About the role
We’re looking for a Clojure Developer to join our mission-driven team in Oslo, or remotely. Your focus will be on Stage, a tool which helps manage and talk about assets with a breeze.

We’re looking for a real team player who enjoys collaborating with other developers, designers and clients. You’ll need to be comfortable presenting your work and pitching your ideas, while also taking others’ opinions into account and making the best decisions for your team.

About Appear
Appear is on a mission to fix the broken product design process for rich extended reality (XR) experiences. We’re starting an ambitious journey to create next-generation tools to design immersive experiences for XR. Our vision is to free the curiosity of designers from limitations of other platforms and static 2D frames and ultimately enable a design process that produces high quality and engaging XR experiences.

Appear is the first tool that focuses on the needs of XR-designers when composing advanced experiences and products for augmented and mixed reality. Our unique system enables the creation of rich and playful experiences that truly interact with the surrounding environment —we’re defining how we’ll interact with and within the spatial experiences.

What we’d like you to do
Maintain a full-stack Clojure(Script) web application built on top of:
Frontend: re-frame (+ kee-frame)
Backend: undertow, ring, datalevin (lmdb)

Own the development process of new features. And help steer the future direction of the product.

Collaborate with the rest of the team on planning and implementing the data and communication infrastructure for the next generation of design tools.

What we're looking for
3 years of experience in full-stack application development with Clojure(Script)
Proficiency developing with Clojure, ClojureScript, Git, React, CSS
Experience working in interdisciplinary teams with Interaction / UI / UX Designers
Familiarity with protocols for real-time client + server interaction
