The Role
The role will work on game server logic and tooling for our Modern Darts and Shuffleboard concepts, written in Clojure. The developer will represent the technical perspective in the game design process, and help make pragmatic technology choices in the face of new and evolving requirements. There may also be some work to integrate our game systems with third party applications. Developers with frontend experience are encouraged to contribute to the development of our game client applications (ClojureScript & Unity). You will be manual testing of game logic on premise (we have test facilities in Oslo) as well as continuing the ongoing establishment of DevOps workflows and pipelines. Monitoring, measuring and optimising game performance, you will be able to identify bottlenecks, bugs and areas for improvement
About you
As the new developer you will be part of a team of developers and game designers who collaborate both remotely and face to face. Working closely with our IT Operations team and other stakeholders to promote the delivery of observable and secure features you will have a “can do” attitude and always be looking to find a solution to a problem. You will have a curious nature and keen to contribute to the design of our games. Self motivated, organised and methodical in your approach you will be a great communicator and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
Experience you will need.
At least 2 years experience with Clojure development
Have designed and developed HTTP APIs
Preferably experience with mainstream languages like Java and/or C#
Polyglot programmers with experience from multiple languages and paradigms are preferred.
Experience with HTTP API development and Server Sent Events
Experience from game programming with e.g. Unity or Godot is highly coveted, as we will likely do much more work with these types of technologies in the future.
Test automation
Working knowledge of Linux
Experience working with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
Experience working with Containers (Docker etc)
Experience working in a DevOps team is a plus
Experience with computer hardware (Motherboards, CPUs, PCIe card, etc.) is a plus
