Our technology touches consumers, financial advisors and large enterprise institutions. In this role, you will be a pivotal player at an important point in our journey.
We mainly use Clojure for our backend, supplemented by ClojureScript and TypeScript for our frontends.
Our business is funded by reputable institutional investors including Futuregrowth, African Rainbow Capital and Naspers Foundry.
Your responsibilities
Build client tools using inhouse LifeCheq software and scripts written in Clojure/Clojurescript.
Write, test, and deploy high-quality code using modern development practices and technologies to build and maintain models for use in client tools.
Develop and build financial models and advice tools for use in advisor and client applications.
Maintain and debug tools made.
Work with UI/UX designers to enhance the user interface and user experience of the platform, making it user-friendly for both internal and external users.
Integrate models, calculations, and algorithms into the platform to support pricing, risk assessment, and product development.
Analyze and interpret data, and statistical information to inform software design and functionality.
Analyze and research opportunities in the market in order to develop new products or streamline existing product offerings.
Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply your expertise to drive innovation.
Interact with internal and external clients to assess needs and provide solutions.
What skills you’ll bring
An actuarial qualification or a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field;
Strong coding skills in languages like, Clojure/Clojurescript, Python, R or similar languages;
Proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and risk assessment;
Good knowledge of financial products.
