Job description
The goal of Red Planet Labs is to radically change the economics of software development – not just modest and incremental improvements in specific areas, but multiple orders of magnitude cost reduction for building end-to-end, scalable software applications. We are looking for talented engineers who share our ambition to greatly improve software development.

The developer tool we've built, called Rama, is a platform for building backends at any scale with a powerful programming model generalizing event sourcing and materialized views. Rama provides composable building blocks that can be combined in different ways to handle any or all of the computation and storage needs for a backend. To demonstrate its power, we used Rama to rebuild the entirety of Mastodon from scratch to be Twitter-scale in only 10k lines of code, a 100x code reduction compared to what Twitter wrote to build the equivalent. We're now working with users in our private beta to help them build applications with much less code and greatly lowered infrastructure complexity.

More than anything else, we're looking for people with a deep ambition to accomplish great things. We're looking for people with a passion for software development who take great pride in their work and will do whatever it takes to get things done.
